Safari Overview
Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest and most popular national park. On this tour, you will experience this UNESCO World Heritage site. Serengeti is famed for its annual migration where some six million hooves pound the open plains. Serengeti offers an exotic game-viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you an up-close look at the animals you’ve only seen in National Geographic: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of elands, topi, kongoni, impala, and Grant’s gazelle.
Day 1: Arusha to Central Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked up from Arusha and driven to Central Serengeti. After arriving proceed with a game drive in the wilderness tracking the Great Migration trails. Serengeti offers an exotic game-viewing experience in the whole of Africa giving you an up-close look at the animals you’ve only seen in National Geographic: great herds of buffalo, smaller groups of elephant and giraffe, and thousands of elands, topi, kongoni, impala, and Grant’s gazelle. We will later continue to Osinoni Lodge and campsite for dinner and overnight
Day 2: Central Serengeti
Spend two full days in Serengeti National Park mostly exploring the wildlife. Serengeti National Park’s resident wildlife numbers are exceptionally high in the Wagakuria area, with a pride of lions up to 30 strong, however, from July to October the area turns into a wildlife paradise. The key feature is the Mara River, and it is not uncommon to see the herds cross the Mara River north on one day and then back south a few days later. Please take note – finding a crossing is very difficult and is sometimes a matter of luck. We will later continue to Osinoni Lodge and campsite for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Central Serengeti to Arusha
After an early breakfast, check out of the lodge with a packed picnic lunch and depart for a last game viewing on your way out of Serengeti. In the late afternoon drive to Kilimanjaro or Arusha airport in time for your onward flight. Alternatively, continue to your booked hotel for overnight.
